2012 “Au Pair of the Year” Award Winners

Cultural Care Au Pair has once again received numerous nominations for the “Au Pair of the Year” Award in 2012. Thank you to all of our host families who submitted heartfelt nominations, and congratulations to each and every Cultural Care au pair who was nominated for this prestigious award. From the nominations, Cultural Care Au Pair chose three finalists whose host parents’ essays were sent to the International Au Pair Association for consideration.

Apply for free and save $750

Cultural Care Au Pair is here to provide a possible solution for your childcare needs and save you some money with this special offer while providing you with a tool to secure your childcare with a live-in au pair in 2012.

We are offering new families a $75 application fee waiver and a $750 program fee discount, but you have to apply by Tuesday, January 24th, 2012.

To learn more about the program and how families benefit from au pair childcare, I encourage you to contact me for more information about how your family can benefit, too.

We have limited number of in country au pairs who are already in the US and available to come to your home in the next few weeks.

We have also a lot of au pairs available who are still in their home country. We recruit from different countries around the world. The earliest possible arrival for these au pairs is at the end of February or early March 2012.

*To qualify for this discount, families must be new to Cultural Care Au Pair, apply from January 19, 2012 through January 24, 2012, and welcome an au pair by July 31, 2012. Selection fee of $175 must be paid upon final au pair selection. Offer cannot be applied retroactively and may not be combined with any other program fee discounts (excluding host family referral bonuses).  Program fee discounts may only be applied to program terms of 30 weeks or more.

Learning to Listen

Here is a common parental fantasy: the kids actually listen to what we say. What a concept! But why does such a simple thing sometimes seem so far out of reach? Part of the problem may be that we often forget that listening needs to be learned. Babies are primed to watch and listen: that’s how they pick up language, expression and just about everything else. But as the little ones grow, parents need to nurture and attend to this crucial skill so that our kids can keep up with the ever more complex instructions, concepts and questions to which they must respond at school and at home.
